Welcome to the Relentless Knitting Podcast! We’re so happy you've found us. We are two science teachers who knit based out of the beautiful Okanagan valley in British Columbia Canada.
The goal of this podcast is to share our love of the fibre arts and foster community. Our focus will be knitting with flares of other hobbies and interests. We are both recent first time moms and we’ll be sharing some of our adventures in mommyhood. We own Relentless Knitting Company and are contracted by our local yarn store to teach knitting classes. Intros
Emily -I teach math and science at a local high school. I have been knitting since 2007. I taught myself to knit mostly using YouTube. I took a quick mitten class at my lys and have been unstoppable since. I have been learning to spin for about a year on a wheel I salvaged from the attic at my school. I can crochet if I absolutely have to but I'm not very proficient. Aside from the fibre arts I enjoy cooking, baking, gardening and wine. I married my husband in 2013 and we had a daughter in the fall of 2014. You can find me on Ravelry and instagram as EmGemKnits.
Karla- I'm a French immersion middle school math and science teacher. I’ve been knitting since 2009 and spinning since 2013. My maternal grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 5 and had me making butterfly fridge magnets for her ladies church bazaar. I was inspired to knit after meeting Emily in my practicum. I took a class at my local yarn store and haven’t looked back since. My son was born in the fall of 2014. I enjoy all things crafty and consider myself a maker. I can be found on Ravelry as K-Rae and on instagram and pinterest as Karlacrafts.
